WHY MIKOU
MIKOU is not a word you will find in any dictionary. It is a word that exists only in one family, ours.
When our eldest daughter Mila was born, she quickly became “Mimi” at home. When her little sister Anouk arrived, she became “Koukie.” Mimi and Koukie. MI-KOU. The name was there before the brand was, a private, tender shorthand for the two little people who changed everything.
We chose it because MIKOU is, at its heart, a family brand. It was created by parents, inspired by their children, and designed for yours. The name carries that warmth. It is personal, playful, and full of love, just like the moments it’s made for.
AND "AIME LA PLAGE"?
The full name is MIKOU aime la plage: French for “MIKOU loves the beach.”
Stefania grew up in Italy and her husband is French. Their daughters were born in London and Lisbon, speaking four languages and collecting seashells in different countries.
The beach is where this family comes together: where languages blur, where shoes come off, where the phone stays in the bag.
